Challenge: A private hospital that doesn't have an internal TTO, hired BIM to screen for the
most promising projects from a list of ~20 technologies, all at A very early stage of
development.
Solution: As a first major screen, BMI's team conducted an initial patent analysis for the
projects. This analysis left only 7 projects. As a next step, our team rated the reminding projects
based on the parameters of technological novelty, unmet medical need, current competition and
time to market. At the end of this process, BIM's team recommended further investment into 2
projects.
